The Afghan Medical Association of America (AMAA) is a public benefit, nonprofit organization which has been in existence since 1992.
The AMAA is an independent association and not influenced by any government or groups inside or outside Afghanistan.
Membership
No aspect of the membership has been denied on the basis of sex, race, color, age, creed, or national origin. The majority of members are physician but some of the members are non-physician who are contributing to the AMAA to further the goals of the AMAA which has been set forth by the Bylaws and by the resolutions of the annual membership meetings. There are four categories of membership which include active, allied health, honorary and auxiliary. The members meet annually.
Board of Directors and officers
The officers, in addition to the president, include a Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, who are elected from the Directors by the Board. The following are the current officers of the AMAA: Khushal A. Stanisai M.D., President Nafisa Abdullah M.D., Vice President Habib Baha M.D., Secretory Raghbir Sing Bir M.D., Treasurer The Board of Directors is responsible for carrying out the actions set forth by the resolutions and goals voted for at the annual meeting. The executive committee meets as needed under the direction of the officers and the key decisions are subject to the approval of the Board of Directors. |
